The financial office was designed for wealth management firm Cambridge Associates. Their new office is 23,500 square feet and occupies the 33rd floor of a glass skyscraper.
“The company sought what every company that makes such a move seeks: a work environment (and convenient location) attractive to young urban professionals, an address with the prestige of the city, and a vital central hub for the activity that a busy financial services firm orchestrates every day,” said Studio O+A.
This incredible San Francisco-based company has designed projects of interiors for a high number of tech offices, including Yelp, Evernote, Facebook and many others.
For this unique makeover, the company’s goal was to balance between old and new, tradition and modernity. They said that the office “combines the spaciousness and light of a modern collaborative environment with the timeless materials – wood, glass and steel – that have always been architectural (and financial) symbols of permanence.”
A space with several workstations, meeting rooms, private rooms and social areas to get to know the entire staff. Materials like wood and marble were used to create an earthy environment combined with a neutral color palette with pops of orange and blue.
The reception area was though and designed to be warm and offer a welcoming feel to the guests and clients of the firm. Conference rooms have glass walls that provide visual transparency and acoustic privacy. The office features numerous wooden panels that slightly overlap to create a natural and unique texture.
“Finishes, furniture, lighting – all reflect the understated elegance that is this project’s overriding spirit, but with modern accents: a polished concrete surface, a sculptured light fixture,” the team said.
